MEET ME Hello, I am the photographer...Also known as Laurie Purcell, the lover of memories. The lover of documenting them for you. The lover of beautiful things. The lover of love and of life and children and laughter and polk a dots and tears and tantrums little barefeet, memories and life as it happens. When you hire me, you hire me to document through my camera what I feel in my heart.
I have always had a love for photography. I have been capturing life through the lens for over 25 years, and have an unbelievable passion for telling the stories of our lives with my camera and preserving them forever. I place special value on my caring, personalized & unique style and service. My creative skills, visual artistry and professionalism contributes to each jobs success.
It wasn’t until I had my kids that I took photography more seriously. Like every mother, I wanted to capture every precious moment of my children’s lives. The moments that we all take for granted, but that take our breath away at the same time. My goal is to create images of your children that tug at your heart. I want to capture the innocence of each child, for you to treasure for a lifetime.

PREPERATIONS
One of the biggest headaches of pictures is choice of wardrobe. Believe it or not you CAN have fun with this! Wardrobe choice is CRUCIAL in the end result of your images looking professional! Put some time, effort and energy planning. It's an old school thought that all subjects have to be "Matchy Matchy". If I were you I would find one item that you LOVE like a tie with a playful pattern and colors or even a little girls tights or the Mother's dress. Pull colors from those specific items and coordinate the subjects that way. Remember layers and accessories are FUN! Ties, sweaters, vests, jackets, purses, gloves, hats, tights, bright shoes, boots, tutu's the possibilites are endless! You will want to decide on the type of shoot you would like. Downtown Urban, Nature or Documenting life (at your house-good for Newborns).
If you need further guidance, don't hesitate to email me! One last thing but definitely not the least important, it's a GREAT idea to bring smarties to a shoot especially for children 3 and under. They are invisible and keeps kids still and happy!!! Last of all, don't be shy of interacting and playing with one another on our shoot. Shoots are most succesful when we flow through the temper tantrums and work around the child rather than making the child work around us! Last of all, be prepared to have a memorable and enjoyable, fun experience!!!!
WHAT TO WEAR
An outfit can make a photo priceless! I say simple SIMPLE. get all decked out! Layer, layer, layer with differnt textures, like denim, sweaters, or corduroy; they photograph beautifully. I love love love bright colors, but any color will do. Try to stay away from light pastel colors, they dont photograph well. For group photos, try to coordinate colors and styles, but everyone does NOT need to be the same. Newborns and babies photograph best in their birthday suits. Hats are a great accessory, and can add personality. Love bare feet, or no shirt on little boys. Dress children in anything that's them- even if that's Superman p.j's.
